About Polk County Convention Center

Compared to other convention centers, the Des Monies Polk County Convention Center may be small, but, in this case, small is good - and innovative. When it opened in 1985, the complex won recognition as the best Iowa building of the decade.

The complex may have only 60,000 square feet of exhibition space, but it’s got a four-mile long skywalk that connects the complex to hotels, restaurants, shopping and parking.
